Back-End Developer - Starting salary of £30 - £45K
JDI Dating is a well-established online dating company operating 18 websites with over 8.5 million members and gaining a further 750,000 new members every month. To keep up with our growth we're looking for an ultra-talented PHP Web Developer to join our experienced development team and work on our high traffic dating websites.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with the existing development team to design and build new features and products for our systems
- Iteratively improve the PHP system code of our service
- Work with the API to integrate partner offerings into our existing products
- Develop and maintain the existing MySQL databases of user and product information
- Reporting to the CTO, presenting completed objectives and future plans
- Devising innovative solutions to problems reported by end users and support team
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Excellent PHP & MySQL OOP programming ability
- Experience of/with NoSQL Databases
- Intermediate LINUX systems engineering knowledge
- Good understanding of XML & AJAX, cURL and data mining techniques
- Experience working in a LAMP stack with experience installing and configuring the LAMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP) packages
- Very strong problem solving skills
- Able to work independently with excellent organisation and time management skills
- Previous experience using the SCRUM methodology of working
